Sometimes a kitchen remodel isn’t in the cards, but the universe has other plans. That’s what happened to Andrew and his wife with their condo kitchen. They discovered there was water damage to the subfloor that had to be fixed, so they used the opportunity to do a budget-friendly remodel and make the kitchen more their style.

Take a look at how their surprise $2500 renovation turned out!

First things first: they had to replace the flooring. And we love that they went with a darker floor to really offset the bright white cabinets.

To keep costs in check, all of the appliances stayed. Andrew and his wife also decided to keep the cabinets, and just update them with a fresh coat of white paint.

The laminate countertops, plain painted backsplash, and stainless steel sink were another story.

They opted for a new white sink, white subway tile along the backsplash, and gray and white Carrara marble countertops.

The kitchen looks so much brighter and airier now! A great, albeit unexpected, update.
