When you don’t have the energy to cook (say, on a busy weeknight after a long, hectic day), one-pan meals are the answer. This recipe in particular is one to have in your back pocket at all times. It’s truly a dump-and-bake affair — no browning, boiling, or sautéing required.

The author affectionately dubs this recipe as an “ultra lazy” pasta bake. It’s for those times when you don’t want to call for takeout, but making an elaborate meal feels out of the question. There’s no pre-cooking involved — you only need to spend five minutes prepping and then the oven does the rest of the work for you.

Simply spread the dry rotini in an even layer in your baking dish, then sprinkle all-purpose flour over top, followed by some chicken broth, milk, garlic, and butter. Finish with the pieces of raw chicken and broccoli florets and then cover the dish with foil and bake. Halfway through you’ll add some shredded cheddar, stir everything together, and then top with more cheese before putting it back in the oven to finish baking.

Whether you’re making this for your own family or delivering it to someone in need, it truly does not get any easier than this!
