The auctioning of Camelot continues, this time with Jackie Kennedy’s childhood summer home in the Hamptons hitting the market with an asking price of $29.995 million — and it’s a gorgeous display of vintage New York society elegance and restraint, just like the icon herself.

Originally offered for $38.99 million in September of 2016, Lasata — named after the Native American word for “place of peace” — is the seven-acre East Hampton estate where Jackie Kennedy spent her summers as a child. The property was owned by Kennedy’s grandfather, John Vernou Bouvier Jr., in the 1920s and has only had a “handful of owners over the past century,” according to the listing.

The 10-bedroom home built in 1917 by architect Arthur C. Jackson (plus pool house and pool on 7.2 acres) may currently be owned by Tiffany’s artistic director Reed Krakoff, but the styling actually screams classic American prep a la Kate Spade or Kelly Wearstler. The former would actually make an excellent potential buyer, given that she just recently sold her company to Coach for $2.4 billion — and has repeatedly cited Jackie O as one of her personal style icons and inspirations, dating back to Spade’s days as a senior editor at Mademoiselle (when she was Kate Brosnahan).

But it’s actually Krakoff’s wife, interior designer Delphine, who deserves credit for restoring the property to all its timeless glory: according to Town & Country, prior to the couple’s purchase of the estate in 2007 (for $25M) it hadn’t been renovated in decades.

High rollers with the means to own this prestigious piece of aristocratic American history, dust off your vintage tennis whites: the adjacent grass courts, which sit on another four acres of pristine manicured lawns and gardens, are being sold separately for an additional $14.995 million, Curbed reports.
