We all need a friend like Bethany. She recently took on this DIY project for a friend and her family. This damaged heirloom was almost beyond restoration, but Bethany found a way to make it sail once more.

Ahoy! We love the crisp, nautical look that Bethany coaxed out of this nearly-dead piece. Great job!

From Bethany:

It took me a while to really be confident with how I wanted to paint it. I ended up choosing a two-toned finish with a custom navy color and a soft gray to brighten the shelves and offer a contrast to any decorative accessories. I thought about changing the hardware, but I LOVED the worn quality brass. The family owns and runs a local seafood restaurant on the waterfront in Swansboro, NC and loves all things nautical. I can picture this piece paired with an antique divers helmet and a tidal clock and sitting on the porch with Bloody Mary and listening to the rain in a rocking chair on a lazy Sunday. I hope they love it for many more generations to come.

Thank you Bethany!
