It’s something we do every day, but who knew it could be so controversial? This week, Twitter got into a debate on toothbrushing habits, and we want to know where you stand.

According to Mashable, it all started with one tweet asking whether people put the toothpaste on first or wet the brush first. Let’s just say that no matter which pattern people follow, they are very convinced that they are in the right, and everyone else is wrong.

Here are some strong points from Team Wet:

Those who don’t wet their toothbrush before putting on the toothpaste are likely the same people who pour milk in their bowls before cereal.

Ewww how you not gonna rinse the toothbrush first??

I rinse the toothbrush, put toothpaste on it, then rinse it again.

And now from Team Paste:

I don’t wet my toothbrush first. A: waste of water even if it is for just a second. B: I rinse my toothbrush after I use every time it so it’s not like it’s gross. C: it’s going to get wet once you put water on it anyway why does it matter.

I put the toothpaste first because if not then it slides off

I don’t wet it at all
