The bullseye announced the new brand back in February on their corporate blog . The colorful and eclectic collection includes 1,300 pieces with most items under $30, and features tons of jewel tones, textured accents, and objects inspired by travel (the design team hit up Aix-en-Provence, Lisbon, Paris and Mallorca for the spring release).

A few staffers checked the products out in person at the press preview Wednesday evening, and here are their thoughts:

I love that Target has introduced removable wallpaper with this collection. As a renter in NYC, I’m always looking for decor products that are temporary AND stylish. The prints they’ve made for Opalhouse range from colorful and playful to rich and sophisticated so they fit with a mix of decor styles. – Charlotte, Social Media Manager My one takeaway is that peacocks are the new flamingos which were the new palms. – Nora, Associate News Editor

Over the past year, Target has been redefining its in-house brands, as well as launching new ones like mid-century inspired Project 62 and Chip and Joanna’s farmhouse styled Hearth & Hand with Magnolia. “The launch of Opalhouse helps round out our Home assortment, making Target a destination for differentiated brands that guests can find only at Target, all at an incredible value,” Mark Tritton, Target’s chief merchandising officer says.

While Project 62 brings a West Elm look at a Target price point, you could say that Opalhouse is bringing the boho vibes of Anthropologie. Not a bad move when eclectic global style continues to dominate on design blogs and Instagram.

Opalhouse debuts at Target stores and online on April 8, but here’s a peek at what will be available:
